SDG 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Eco-inclusive enterprises deliver market-based solutions that prove economic development is possible within our ecological boundaries. Such enterprises adopt low carbon technologies and offer products and services that empower communities to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. They also improve the resilience of vulnerable populations to climate change, through the incorporation of women, youth and others as suppliers, distributors and consumers in their value chains.
At SEED, we enable the start and scale-up of climate-smart enterprises within our Direct Enterprise Support programmes.
In our collaborative Ecosystem Building activities we advocate for the integration of eco-inclusive enterprise in national and global discussions to ensure we maximise their contribution to climate action.

SEED programmes supporting Climate Action
Much of our Direct Enterprise Support work at SEED supports Climate Action by building the capacities of eco-inclusive enterprises and identifying leading enterprises in the design of products, services and value chains for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Additionally, our multi-stakeholder Ecosystem Building programmes engage with leading financial institutions, policy-makers, NGOs and more to design solutions which bolster the impacts of eco-inclusive entrepreneurship. Our Labs for Policy Prototyping and Climate Finance Prototyping enable core ecosystem stakeholders to design measures and instruments that directly address the needs of small and growing eco-inclusive enterprises.
SEED Climate Finance Labs
SEED Practitioner Labs Climate Finance engage leading experts to address core financing challenges and deliver innovative, tailored financial solutions. Practitioners pool their expertise to prototype financial products which drive investment in climate-smart solutions and improve climate resilience, refine these prototypes and mobilise partnerships to successfully launch the financial products.
SEED Policy Prototyping Labs
SEED Practitioner Labs Policy Prototyping engage policy-makers, sector experts, NGOs to address challenges and identify policy instruments which support socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable enterprises. These Labs facilitate the design of policy measures to harness entrepreneurship for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
