Thierry Sanders is a CEO of Mekar, Indonesia. Mekar one of Indonesia’s pioneering online lending platforms that finance small, mainly women’s businesses. Thierry is responsible for overall fund strategy and international investor relations. Thierry has a long career in SME finance having started matchmaking investors and emerging market startups in 1997. He founded BiD Network Foundation, a startup-investor-coaching platform. It attracted 60,000 startups from emerging markets, over 100 SMEs and USD 35 million was matched with investors. He is a career business developer mostly in impact ventures like Fair Trade, BiD Network, BIDx, Ecosecurities Ltd (carbon trading). In Indonesia since 2015, he turned Mekar around with Putera Sampoerna.
