Saphira has a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning as well as an Honours degree in Environmental and Geographical Science both from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Saphira has worked in the development finance, environmental, and evaluation sector for over fourteen years and currently Heads the Operations Evaluation Unit at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). Saphira’s areas of expertise include monitoring and evaluation for development impact, impact investment, environmental and social due diligence, and sustainable development. Saphira’s current focus is on using monitoring and evaluation to facilitate a just transition towards an economy that is inclusive and sustainable.
