Christopher Masara
Christopher, is a Private Sector Development Specialist with more than 16 years of experience in east and southern African region. Currently, he is working as a Senior Consultant in Malawi, for a GIZ and EU co-funded Private Sector Development Programme (KULIMA-MIERA), managing a portfolio of interventions in the rice, macadamia and chili/paprika value chains. Christopher has also provided consultancy services in designing and implementing of sustainable non-timber forests products and commercial agriculture enterprises programmes that were funded by a number of agencies that include, but, are not limited to GIZ, EU, USAID, DFID and DANIDA.
Christopher’s interest includes, understanding how people learn to use sustainable entrepreneurship skills, an area where, he has contributed by documenting some peer reviewed papers and also provided voluntary advisory services by sitting on boards of Zimbabwean non-governmental organisations (NGOs) such as the Partner for Integrated and Development (pigad) and Schools and Environmental Permaculture (SCOPE). Christopher, have also tutored a Rhodes University, Regional certificate in Environmental and Sustainability Education which was offered to Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) member states.
Christopher, holds a full thesis Masters in Environmental Education from Rhodes University, South Africa and half thesis Masters in Agribusiness from Africa University, Zimbabwe.
