James W. Muhowa
James Muhowa is an expert in business training, material development and development planning, currently working with GIZ Malawi as a Project Coordinator, responsible for the development and implementation of Farmer Organization Business Training and Coaching Cycle (James being one of the developers of the methodology).
Previously, James had worked with United Purpose (formerly Concern Universal) as a Training Officer (2014-2015) and later on as a Business Advisor (2015-2017) responsible for the capacity building of farmer organizations in business development and management, corporate social responsibility and certification of standards (Fairtrade and Bonsucro). James has also worked with other organizations such as Emmanuel International Malawi (4years) and Bio-Energy Resources Company Limited (1year) in the areas of Agriculture production technologies and natural resources management (including conservation agriculture, watershed management, irrigation, and agribusiness) and bio-fuel production respectively. Apart from that, James is also an entrepreneur.
James studied Social Science (Development Studies) at Catholic University of Malawi, Sugarcane Agriculture at the South African Sugarcane Research Institute-Durban, as well as Agriculture and Natural Resources Management at the Natural Resources College (NRC) of Malawi now called Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).
