ADAPT+ is a green enterprise incorporated in 2013 to provide cooking energy solutions to the most energy-insecure communities in Uganda. The enterprise is employing a comprehensive recycling strategy to address climate change mitigation and adaptation, thereby improving the resilience and livelihood of populations in energy-insecure situations. Its products and services are categorized into Clean Cooking Energy Solutions; Clean Cooking Solutions Supply Chain Development; Training and Advisory Services; and the Energy-Agribusiness Nexus.

ADAPT+ collects bio-waste which is processed through a gasification plant to produce electricity which runs a briquette-making plant.  The by-product, biochar, is then used as a raw material to produce carbonized briquettes which are distributed within refugee settlements.  It is also introducing a locally -customised and -made ethanol stove as an alternative renewable energy to cater to the needs of refugees, who have a huge unfulfilled energy demand. ADAPT+ is using strategic partnerships, innovative value-chains and innovative pricing mechanisms in order to serve this latent market.
