SEED hosted COP26 International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Side Event

On November 8, SEED hosted a session at the COP26 International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Side Event, to discuss the topic Entrepreneurship for Climate Mitigation and Resilience. We were happy to offer a stage to small scale enterprises that were underrepresented at COP26 and Glasgow by highlighting 4 local SMEs whose innovations and impacts are contributing to net zero: Regenize, Wuchi Wami, ONergy and moreloop

The event provided a platform for SEED-supported enterprises to share their journey and lesson learned through their activities in contributing to climate mitigation and resilience. Some of the key take-aways show that SMEs need tailored capacity building per stage of development, as well as more and better tailored finance. The demand for their products needs to be driven. Our panelists highlighted some of the tools they offer to support these SMEs.

High-level speakers - Bhairav Raja from DAI’s Sustainable Business Group, Cosima Stahr from EU-SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility, Dagmar Zwebe from Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Adriana Zacarias Farah from Global Opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (GO4SDGs), and Gabriel Petrus from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) joined the discussion.
