SEED exhibits at PAGE Ministerial Conference in Berlin
On 27th and 28th March the Second Ministerial Conference of the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) brought together around 40 ministers, CEOs, high-level representatives of UN agencies, nongovernmental organizations and trade unions as well as more than 300 sustainable development experts in Berlin to accelerate the shift to green investment, sustainable lifestyles and inclusive growth.
As one of 15 selected “Green Economy Pioneers” SEED was invited to demonstrate its innovative approaches and the wealth of green innovation by eco-inclusive SMEs at an exhibition running in parallel to the conference. SEED was accompanied by 2005 SEED Award Winner SRI Global Marketing Partnership, an eco-inclusive enterprise marketing indigenous and environmentally-friendly grown rice varieties in partnership with farmers in Asia and East Africa.
During the plenary session “Insights, Awards and Outcomes” on March 28th Sam Vitou of SRI shared insights from the enterprise's successful journey, which has been catalysed through the SEED Award. Since 2005 SRI for example established significant partnerships with central stakeholders further enabling the business to become the successful eco-inclusive enterprise as it stands today. The insights provided by Sam Vitou highlight once more how important partnerships are for scaling-up of eco-inclusive enterprise solutions to achieve economic, environmental and social impacts.
Furthermore, SEED's Executive Director, Arab Hoballah, shared insights and best practices of eco-inclusive business development support at the roundtable discussion on “Promoting green start-ups: Best-practices and implementation strategies for public support systems for sustainable entrepreneurship”.
